My parents are both Fiji-born. I was born in Christchurch, New Zealand. My father comes from the village of Dravuwalu, Naceva, Kadavu
What do you and your family do to keep your culture alive?
We always speak our language at home and eat food (our Fijian delicacies…..yum)
Do you have a favourite proverb or saying in Fijian?
I am very thankful to still have my family in Fiji, so it's always good going home to see them. I love the food as you can tell from my previous answer, the tourism is great, and church will always play a big part in my life.
Do you have any tips for those who may be travelling to Fiji? Any must see things?
Travel light! Don’t be like me and pack your whole closet and then not use half of your clothes. I like to always have my iri (fan) with me, it's an absolute lifesaver especially in the hot summer days where there is no air con.
How important is family to you?
I am so blessed to be from a culture where family is everything! Family will always be important to me
Anything interesting extra you’d like to share about yourself/being Fijian?
