Etu Pasifika Canterbury welcomes new leader to strengthen Ngalu Fānifo Mental Health Service
Etu Pasifika Canterbury (EPC) is excited to welcome Norman Vaele to the team as the Lead for the Ngalu Fānifo mental health service. Driven by his motivation to serve Pacific communities, Vaele looks forward to offering his insights from previous roles to champion the needs of Pacific families in the Canterbury region.

“I’ve been in leadership for a number of years as a senior addiction specialist, working with severe end patients with co-existing disorders so I am familiar with the space. Ngalu Fānifo has a unique presence within the primary care space which I was drawn to.

“I felt it within me that it was time to rejoin the Pacific work services. This was an opportunity that I couldn’t turn away."

Vaele says he has a deep passion and a heart for helping those in need of mental health support.

“For me this is about passion; a passion for helping those who are suffering with mental health or problems with addiction."

EPC looks forward to the leadership Vaele will bring and his guidance of the service. This program is a valuable and unique resource for our patients and a key component of our integrated health model. With Vaele’s experience, knowledge, and passion, we are confident that Ngalu Fānifo is poised for a meaningful and positive transformation.
