The event successfully administered a total of 480 vaccinations to the local community; the influenza immunisation comprised the majority of the vaccinations, with 426 of the 480. The event was led by Clinical Director Dr Samuel Ah Mu, with vaccinations administered by EPC nurses.  

Dr Ah Mu says he is proud of the community for turning up and making the choice to protect themselves and their families.  

"The turnout from the community was amazing. We really loved having the community support the event. It was encouraging to see families eager to prevent illness with a willingness to be immunised. This really stood out to me." 

Dr Ah Mu shares that EPC is planning another event to provide the community with a further opportunity to get their vaccinations. 

"We really hope to have another busy day working out there with our community and bringing health accessibility to them." 

In New Zealand, July typically stands as the coldest month. Nurse Lead Liliola Toma is looking forward to the next community event and says they anticipate another substantial turnout. 

“We expect another big turnout if we host another community vaccination drive. Our recent drive saw so many of our local community turn up that we had to return to the clinic twice to obtain more flu immunisations. 

“It's really awesome to see our families come through. I think we live in a more health conscious society and families are more aware about the importance of immunisations." 

The EPC staff look forward to planning another vaccination event and helping to enable families with access to immunisations in a family friendly environment.
