Successful Vaccination Drive in Auckland: Protecting Pacific Communities and Families
On Saturday, April 6th 2024, Etu Pasifika Auckland (EPA) and Etu Pasifika South Auckland (EPSA) hosted a successful vaccination drive, drawing significant attendance from individuals, families, and communities.

Running from 9am to 2pm, the event witnessed 246 individuals receiving vaccinations. Among them, 236 received the flu vaccination while 10 opted for other vaccinations, including measles, mumps, and rubella.

The drive was spearheaded by EPA's nursing director, Falena Prouting, who played a pivotal role in administering vaccinations and overseeing operations throughout the day.

Reflecting on the event, Falena expressed her delight at the sight of people attending with their families to get vaccinated.

"It was amazing to see people come on the day with their kids, parents and other family members to get their vaccinations done."

"There were a lot of people who came and were not registered with our clinic, so it was great to engage with them."

"Our aim is to protect both our families and communities, while also offering guidance and education on the matter," says Falena.

EPA and EPSA services manager, Malae Koria commends the staff members who took part in the vaccination drive.

"I applaud the outstanding efforts of our dedicated staff members who administered vaccinations and interacted with our community, ensuring seamless operations throughout the day."

Malae Koria stresses the importance of getting vaccinated.

"Vaccination plays a pivotal role in safeguarding our community, protecting both our loved ones and those with underlying health conditions. As colder weather approaches, proactive measures, including vaccination, are essential for preparation and protection."
