Why do you think it’s important to talk about men’s health?
It is important because men’s health is important. In most families, the main bread winner is the father of the family. If he is unwell, this can place unnecessary burden on the family unit as whole. The days where we would hide behind the saying “HARDEN UP” does not cut it anymore; it is selfish. To harden up and not seek help is not HARD, that is easy. To “HARDEN UP” and seek help is HARD because it requires us as men to humble ourselves and to put our pride aside - two characteristics that men find very hard to develop and accept at times. So, talking about men’s health provides an opportunity for education, for men to understand its importance, and to eventually make better choices around their health and wellbeing.
Why is health and well-being important to you?
It is important to me because when I am in a good mental space I can focus and prioritise the things that are important to me e.g. Family, being a father, husband, more clarity, work and God.

Your favourite proverb/mantra/quote/song that keeps you feeling positive?
There is a Hymn I like to hum and a few lines from there help me get over my lows at times and it goes;
"Have I done any good in the world today,
Have I helped anyone in need,
Have I cheered up the sad and made someone feel glad,
If not, then I have work to do.”
This helps me put into perspective that someone else out there in this world is feeling far worse than I am and I need to provide some sort of good deed for someone else.
