Etu Pasifika's Successful Vaccination Drive Boosts Community Health and Immunity in Auckland
Etu Pasifika Auckland (EPA) and Etu Pasifika South Auckland (EPSA) recently organised a vaccination drive at the Pasifika Medical Association head office, Fale Maama, which saw a strong community response, with 160 people receiving vaccines.

The event aimed to improve public health by offering a variety of vaccines, with a particular emphasis on measles, mumps, and rubella immunizations.

A total of 216 vaccines were administered during the drive. The most commonly administered was the Influenza vaccine, with 105 doses given. Additionally, 50 doses of the COVID-19 Comirnaty Omicron XBB.1.5 vaccine were provided, highlighting the continued focus on COVID-19 protection.

EPA Nursing Director, Falena Prouting, emphasised the importance of the vaccination drive.

“In light of recent outbreaks in the community, including measles and whooping cough, staying up to date with immunisations is crucial.”

She also expressed appreciation for the community's participation, saying, "It's inspiring to see so many people taking proactive steps to protect themselves and their loved ones. This event was a vital opportunity to ensure everyone is current with their vaccinations."

This successful event highlights EPA's ongoing commitment to promoting health and wellness within the community through accessible vaccination initiatives.
