Cook Islands Leader, Rouruina Emil'e-Brown, Joins Etu Pasifika Auckland Board
Etu Pasifika Auckland (EPA) welcomes Rouruina Emil’e-Brown, newly appointed member to the EPA Board. With a commitment to community service and a wealth of experience spanning over 35 years, Rouruina joins us with a passion rooted in faith, family, and service to the Pacific community.

Rouruina’s journey to this role has been shaped by her admiration for transformative leadership, particularly inspired by Kiki and Debbie’s vision at PMA.

"Kiki and Debbie’s leadership exemplifies a powerful vision and dedicated work that truly impacts the lives of our Pacific families, our communities, and me personally. It’s truly exciting and a tremendous honour to be included in this family."

Her career has been a testament to her belief in building meaningful connections and creating positive change alongside others.

"By putting my heart and faith into good things and people, I've found that goodness attracts goodness. Maintaining an open heart, mind, and courage has guided my career, always aiming for positive outcomes and embracing possibilities with those I serve.”

Recognised with the King’s Service Medal 2024, Rouruina remains humble, seeing the honour as a reflection of the joy she’s brought to others through her work. For her, this recognition highlights the privilege of serving and loving her community unconditionally.

“I am deeply humbled and honoured by the nomination. Though I feel undeserving, I am immensely grateful to be considered for a King's Service Medal. Knowing that my service has brought happiness to others makes me feel like I've made a meaningful contribution to improving lives. It has been a privilege and a joy to be part of our community for a season. The true stars are the community members themselves; I feel I have received far more than I have given”

Rouruina shares her advice to those aspiring to make a difference.

“Lead with your heart, love unconditionally, and embrace the unique strengths of your community.”

Her vision for Etu Pasifika is to empower and uplift through dedicated advocacy and service, guided by the wisdom and brilliance of our Pacific heritage.

As Rouruina Emil’e-Brown embarks on this new chapter with EPA Board, we celebrate her appointment and look forward to the impact her leadership will undoubtedly bring to our shared journey ahead.
