For Aseloka, health coaching goes beyond exercise; it’s about having real conversations around all areas of health, understanding people’s motivations, and supporting them through their most challenging expenditures in life.
His personal drive comes from helping people enhance their mental health through fitness.
"It’s not just about how people look, but also how they feel. One of his biggest challenges is working with clients who are hesitant to open up. First impressions are everything, and I believe in engaging people with a positive attitude – emphasising the importance of creating a welcoming environment and setting the right tone from the start.” he shares.
For those facing challenges in their health journey, Warren offers practical advice.
“Life’s a journey. You didn’t put on 10 kilos in a day, and you won’t lose it in a day. Setbacks are okay, and it’s all about progress, not perfection.”
Aseloka’s own experiences where he lost a significant amount of weight—having once weighed 150 kilos—fuels his empathy and ability to understand.
“I’ve been through the ups and downs myself, and that has helped me connect with my clients on a deeper and complex level,” he says.
Looking toward a near and promising future, Aseloka can see health coaching expanding its role in the community, addressing lifestyle changes, medical conditions, and mental wellbeing. For Aseloka and the health coaches that work in the Etu Pasifika clinics, there is an understanding that all elements of health are interconnected and a person or family must be approached in a holistic way.
“I see us getting more involved in the community, having real conversations, and making a bigger impact,” he explains.
